Protesters disrupt Met Gala over Trump and billionaire elite

Protesters targeting Donald Trump and U.S. billionaires disrupted the Met Gala in Manhattan on Monday night, briefly halting the star-studded charity event.
The Met Gala, known as one of the most exclusive events in the world of fashion and entertainment, drew demonstrators who criticized income inequality and the influence of the ultra-wealthy. The protestors chanted slogans and held banners near the venue, condemning what they called a symbol of excess.
The annual fundraiser, which attracts celebrities, designers, and business elites, charges up to $50,000 per table, raising money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Despite the disruption, the event continued after security intervened.
