Erdogan, Meloni discuss peace efforts between Ukraine and Russia

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone call with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to discuss the war between Ukraine and Russia, as well as bilateral and regional issues, Turkish state agency Anadolu reported.
According to the Turkish side, Erdogan reaffirmed Turkey’s readiness to contribute to a just and lasting peace, including by hosting negotiations between the parties.
Meloni thanked Erdogan for his commitment to a diplomatic resolution and emphasized the importance of dialogue to end the conflict.
The two leaders also discussed Turkish-Italian relations and broader global matters.
