Israel resumes aid deliveries to Gaza – Axios

Israel has decided to immediately resume humanitarian aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip through existing channels, Axios reporter Barak Ravid said on social media, citing senior Israeli officials.
The office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Israel will allow the entry of a “basic quantity” of food to prevent a hunger crisis in the enclave.
“Following the recommendation of the Israel Defense Forces and due to the operational need to intensify military actions against Hamas, Israel will provide essential food supplies to avert famine in Gaza,” the statement said.
Israel halted aid shipments to Gaza in March. On Sunday, the Israeli army announced a large-scale ground operation in the north and south of the enclave as part of its “Chariots of Gideon” campaign.
