White House denies report of aid ultimatum to Israel over Gaza war

The White House on Sunday rejected a Washington Post report claiming the Biden administration had threatened to suspend military and economic aid to Israel unless it ends its war in Gaza.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the report false and accused the newspaper of seeking to undermine U.S. foreign relations. “The president was furious… We will always stand by Israel,” she said. U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee also dismissed the story as “nonsense.”

Separately, France, the United Kingdom, and Canada warned they would take “concrete measures” if Israel fails to lift restrictions on humanitarian aid and halt bombing operations in Gaza. The three leaders accused Israel of disproportionate escalation and voiced support for a two-state solution.

Meanwhile, an Israeli government source said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had agreed to resume humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza, describing the move as “a technical adjustment.” The source also noted mounting pressure from former President Donald Trump’s camp.
