Iran condemns IAEA resolution over nuclear cooperation

Iran condemns IAEA resolution over nuclear cooperation

Iran has strongly condemned a resolution by the IAEA Board of Governors accusing Tehran of insufficient cooperation with the agency’s nuclear inspections, the Iranian Foreign Ministry and the Atomic Energy Organization said in a joint statement on Thursday.

The resolution, proposed by the United States, France, the UK, and Germany, calls on Iran to immediately clarify the presence of uranium particles found at several undeclared sites, according to a draft seen by the Associated Press.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated the resolution was “politically biased” and lacked a factual basis, insisting the country has “always fulfilled its commitments under the IAEA Safeguards Agreement.”

Tehran had earlier warned of retaliatory measures if the resolution was adopted.
