Israeli airstrikes kill senior Iranian general in Tehran

The Israeli military said its fighter jets killed a senior Iranian commander during overnight airstrikes targeting military sites in Iran, including a key headquarters in central Tehran.
According to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), General Ali Shadmani, chief of the Khatam al-Anbiya central military headquarters and a top commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was eliminated in the raid.
“Following precise intelligence, Israeli Air Force jets struck a command center in the heart of Tehran, killing Ali Shadmani — the highest-ranking military official close to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei,” the statement said.
The IRGC and Iranian authorities have not yet officially confirmed the death. The strike marks one of the most significant Israeli attacks on Iranian soil amid escalating regional tensions.
