Putin proud as granddaughter speaks fluent Chinese

Russian President Vladimir Putin said his granddaughter speaks fluent Chinese, highlighting growing interest in the language among Russians.

"Some of my close relatives are learning Chinese. My granddaughter has a nanny from Beijing, and she speaks Chinese fluently. My daughter began learning the language a long time ago with a tutor. Interest in Chinese is growing in Russia," Putin said.
