IAEA chief proposes meeting with Iran’s foreign minister amid nuclear talks
24.06.2025 17:30

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said he has written to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, proposing a meeting to help resolve the long-standing dispute over Tehran’s nuclear program.

“I welcome the latest statements on Iran. Renewed cooperation with the IAEA is key to a successful agreement,” Grossi posted on X.

He said he emphasized that renewed engagement could pave the way for a diplomatic solution and offered to meet “soon.”

Grossi’s message comes as U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran and Israel have agreed to begin implementing a ceasefire arrangement.
