Iran says 1,060 killed in 12 days of Israeli strikes

The death toll from Israeli strikes on Iranian territory has reached 1,060 people, the head of Iran’s Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, Saeed Ohadi, said on Monday in a broadcast on state television.
“As of this evening, we have buried 1,060 people who died as a result of the Israeli regime’s attacks on Iran,” Ohadi stated.
This updated figure marks a significant increase from earlier reports, which had put the number of casualties at 935.
Tensions between Israel and Iran have sharply escalated over the past two weeks, with Israeli forces targeting what it describes as military installations and logistical infrastructure used to support proxy operations against Israel and its allies.
Tehran has condemned the strikes as blatant violations of its sovereignty and has called on the international community to hold Israel accountable. Iranian officials claim that a large portion of the casualties are civilians, although this has yet to be independently verified.
