Ukraine sanctions five Chinese companies over drone parts found in Russian attacks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has signed a decree imposing sanctions on five Chinese companies whose components were found in Iranian-made Shahed drones used by Russia during a July 4 attack on Kyiv.
The sanctions, based on a decision by Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), target firms that supplied goods to Russian enterprises in 2024–2025, presidential sanctions adviser Vladyslav Vlasiuk said.
Among the sanctioned firms are Ningbo BLIN Machinery Co., Ltd, Suzhou ECOD Precision Manufacturing, Shenzhen Jinduobang Technology Co., Ltd, Shenzhen Royo Technology Co., Ltd, and Central Asia Silk Road International Trade (Tianjin) Co., Ltd.
The measures include asset freezes, trade and transit restrictions, capital controls, and license suspensions. They will remain in effect for ten years.
Ukraine has also begun consultations with international partners to expand sanctions pressure on suppliers involved in aiding Russia's war effort.
The drone strike on Kyiv on July 4 caused civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure, leaving parts of the capital without gas.
