Explosions heard in Kyiv as Russia launches drone attack across Ukraine

Russia launched a large-scale overnight drone attack on Ukraine, triggering air raid sirens nationwide and explosions in Kyiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv region, authorities said.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed air defenses were active over the capital and urged residents to shelter.

Ukraine’s Air Force reported Russian drones operating over most regions.

Earlier, an air alert was declared across Ukraine following the launch of a MiG-31K interceptor jet capable of carrying Kinzhal missiles.
