Ukrainian drones attacked several regions of Russia overnight, including the city of Voronezh, where debris from a downed drone hit a residential building, injuring three minors, officials said on Thursday.

Voronezh regional governor Alexander Gusev said at least five drones were shot down by air defence systems. Four apartments were damaged in a multi-storey building in the city's left-bank district.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said three drones headed toward the capital were also intercepted. Russia's aviation authority reported a temporary one-hour suspension of flights at Vnukovo Airport due to the incident.

Flight restrictions were also briefly imposed at St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport, while Leningrad region governor Alexander Drozdenko said a drone attack was repelled over the Kirovsky district.

In the Belgorod region, a drone dropped an explosive on a private home in the village of Smorodino, killing a woman, regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

Russia’s defence ministry claimed air defences had destroyed 122 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions and annexed Crimea during the night.
