Trump diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency — White House

U.S. President Donald Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency after reporting minor leg swelling and bruising on his hand, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

An ultrasound and vascular screening found no signs of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease. Doctors noted the condition is common among people over 70.

Bruises on the back of his hand were attributed to “minor soft-tissue trauma from frequent handshakes.” Trump’s physician previously described his overall health as “excellent,” citing his active schedule and frequent golf games.
