Trump to sue Wall Street Journal over Epstein letter claim

Trump to sue Wall Street Journal over Epstein letter claim
18.07.2025 15:30

U.S. President Donald Trump said he will sue the Wall Street Journal, its parent company NewsCorp, and media mogul Rupert Murdoch over a report alleging he sent a letter to Jeffrey Epstein for his 50th birthday.

In a Truth Social post, Trump denied writing the letter and called it fake, saying he and Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt had warned the newspaper not to publish it. The WSJ article claimed the letter was compiled by Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell in 2003. Maxwell was sentenced in 2022 to 20 years in prison for recruiting underage girls for Epstein.

Trump argued that if such a letter were real, “radical left Democrats” would have published it years ago during the Epstein investigations.
