Russian mass strike hits Ukraine: one dead, fires and damage reported in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk

Russia launched a massive overnight missile and drone attack on multiple Ukrainian regions, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Ivano-Frankivsk, killing one person and injuring others, Ukrainian authorities said Monday.

Fires broke out in four districts of Kyiv, and the entrance to Lukianivska metro station was damaged. Traffic in central Kyiv has been restricted.

Ivano-Frankivsk’s mayor called it “the most massive attack since the full-scale invasion,” citing destruction in three villages and several injuries. In Kharkiv, 12 drone strikes were recorded, including near residential areas. Roads, tram lines, and power cables were damaged.

Polish armed forces launched aircraft in response to Russian air force activity, placing air defense systems on high alert.

Ukraine’s military reported the use of Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, Kalibr cruise missiles, and over 50 Shahed drones. Strategic bombers and naval carriers from the Black Sea were also involved in the assault.
