Turkey unveils bunker-busting bomb that outperforms U.S. GBU-57 — IDEF 2025

HAYALET-2, at the IDEF 2025 defense fair. Weighing just one tonne, the bomb is capable of penetrating up to 90 meters underground — surpassing the U.S.-made GBU-57, which can reach 60 meters despite weighing 13 tonnes.

During tests, the HAYALET-2 was dropped on an island and penetrated dozens of meters below the surface. The resulting shockwave spread across the island and reached surrounding waters, the developers said.

The GBU-57 was recently used by the United States in a strike on Iran.
