Putin holds talks with Trump envoy Steven Witkoff in Kremlin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has begun a meeting with U.S. special envoy Steven Witkoff in the Kremlin, the presidential press service said on Tuesday.

Earlier, a source close to the White House told the Financial Times that U.S. President Donald Trump would be “furious” if the envoy's trip did not deliver results.

“It all depends on what Witkoff brings back,” the source said, adding that Trump would decide on sanctions against Russia following the visit.

Witkoff arrived in Moscow earlier in the day and was met by the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev. This marks his fifth visit to Russia this year.
