Was Instagram right to delete a mum’s account after this picture?

Last week the Courtney Adamo from north London posted a picture of her 18-month-old Marlow to her blog for boutique Babyccino Kids, which has tens of thousands of followers.It shows Marlow holding up her dress to reveal her belly.But the following day the mum of four received an email from Instagram stating the image was inappropriate and was removed.Defiant Courtney re-posted the photo, and to her surprise the account was disabled.At the time she wrote on her blog: ‘I never, ever, ever would have thought that posting this photo of Marlow would lead to this.‘Instagram has deleted four years of my family photos and memories.’Instagram re-activated her account after a social media storm.A spokesman for the site said: ‘We try hard to find a good balance between allowing people to express themselves creatively and having policies in place to protect young children.‘This is one reason why our guidelines put limitations on nudity, but we recognize that we don’t always get it right.
