43 arrested in Washington as Trump orders crackdown on crime

At least 43 people were arrested overnight in Washington, D.C., as part of a crime crackdown initiative launched by U.S. President Donald Trump, a White House official said on Wednesday.
According to ABC News, the arrests were carried out by law enforcement agencies on Tuesday night.
Earlier, The Washington Post reported that the Trump administration plans to establish a rapid response force consisting of 600 National Guard troops ready to deploy within an hour to suppress civil unrest.
The Pentagon had already deployed about 800 National Guard personnel to Washington to bolster public safety operations.
