Hamas agrees to ceasefire without amendments — sources

Palestinian group Hamas has informed mediators that it is ready to accept the latest ceasefire proposal in Gaza without amendments, sources familiar with the talks told Asharq Al-Awsat.
According to the sources, a Hamas delegation led by senior official Khalil al-Hayya told Qatari and Egyptian mediators during meetings in Cairo this week that it agrees to resume discussions on the latest draft, which includes a 60-day truce, the redeployment of Israeli forces, and the release of 10 hostages.
The group reportedly dropped its earlier amendments regarding troop withdrawal and demands related to the release of Palestinian prisoners. Sources said Hamas shifted its position likely to prevent Israel’s possible occupation and forced displacement of Gaza residents.
