Trump says Iran could have built nuclear weapon in four weeks without U.S. strikes

Iran could have developed a nuclear weapon within four weeks if the United States had not carried out air strikes on its nuclear facilities, U.S. President Donald Trump said.

“I think they would have had nuclear weapons in a period of four weeks. And they would have used it,” Trump told U.S. journalist Mark Levin in an interview, referring to June strikes on Iranian sites.

On June 22, U.S. forces attacked three nuclear facilities in Fordow, Isfahan and Natanz using B-2 Spirit strategic bombers and bunker-busting bombs. Trump said the operation caused “colossal damage.”

The president also called himself and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “war heroes.”
“He is a war hero because we work together. I think I am too. Nobody cares, but I am. I sent those planes [to bomb Iran’s nuclear sites],” Trump said.
