Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan signed a decree recalling Vahagn Atabekyan from his post as ambassador to Lebanon, the presidential office said on Wednesday.

The decision was made on the proposal of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Atabekyan had headed Armenia’s diplomatic mission in Beirut since November 2018. Armenia and Lebanon established diplomatic relations in 1992, and an Armenian embassy has operated in Beirut since 1994.
