European allies ask US to deploy F-35 jets in Romania – The Times

Several European countries have asked the United States to deploy F-35 fighter jets to Romania as part of wider security guarantees, The Times reported on Thursday, citing NATO military chiefs’ talks in Washington.
According to the report, the request comes amid discussions on strengthening NATO’s eastern flank.
The allies also support giving Ukraine access to U.S. satellites and intelligence to help its GPS navigation system, the newspaper said.
In addition, they are seeking U.S. guarantees on the supply of Patriot and NASAMS air defence systems to Ukraine, as well as future approval for reconnaissance flights over the Black Sea.
