Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the headquarters of Turkey’s main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) in Istanbul, clashing with police, local media reported. Security forces cordoned off the building and used pepper spray against demonstrators.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or arrests. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said the government would not allow public order to be disrupted and vowed decisive action against unlawful rallies.
