France beat Iceland 2-1 in Azerbaijan’s World Cup qualifying group

France came from behind to beat Iceland 2-1 in Group D of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where Azerbaijan is also competing.
Gudjohnsen put Iceland ahead in the 21st minute before Kylian Mbappe equalised on 45 minutes and Bradley Barcola struck the winner in the 62nd.
After two rounds, France lead the group with six points, Iceland have three, while Ukraine and Azerbaijan each have one.
The next matches on Oct. 10 will see France host Azerbaijan and Iceland face Ukraine.
