Trump urges Israel to act with caution over Qatar

U.S. President Donald Trump said Israel must be “very, very careful” in its actions concerning Qatar, calling the Gulf state a loyal U.S. ally, Israeli outlet Detaly reported.

Trump told reporters he wanted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to ensure Tel Aviv acts cautiously, while stressing Israel must target Hamas.

“Something must be done with Hamas, but Qatar has always been a faithful ally of the United States,” he said.

On Sept. 9, Israel’s military struck Doha in an operation called “Fire Summit,” aimed at Hamas officials attending ceasefire talks. Israel said both Washington and Doha were informed in advance.
