Gazprom and Kazakhstan to build new gas pipeline

Gazprom and the government of Kazakhstan have signed a memorandum to develop a new trunk gas pipeline from Russia to Kazakhstan during the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.
According to Gazprom’s press service, the document was signed following a meeting between company head Alexei Miller and Kazakhstan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar.
The parties also agreed on the main terms of long-term processing of Kazakh gas in Russia, including cooperation on processing gas from the Karachaganak field at the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant.
