Syrian interim president to seek Assad extradition in Moscow talks

 Syria’s interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa will arrive in Russia on Wednesday for talks with President Vladimir Putin and plans to formally request the extradition of ousted leader Bashar al-Assad to face trial on alleged crimes, sources said.

The Kremlin earlier said the talks would also cover the state and prospects of Russian-Syrian relations in political, economic and humanitarian areas, as well as developments in the Middle East.
