Greta Thunberg says she was abused and mistreated by Israeli soldiers
17.10.2025 11:30

Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg told Aftonbladet she was subjected to violence and humiliation during her detention by Israeli forces while joining the “Sumud” flotilla.

She said soldiers kicked and beat her, threw an Israeli flag on her, and shouted insults. They also destroyed her belongings they believed were linked to Palestine. Thunberg claimed she was deprived of sleep, water and food, and kept in overcrowded cells.

Israeli authorities denied the allegations, saying the detention was conducted legally and that the activists’ rights were respected.
