Turkey to send more military hardware to Syria – Bloomberg

Turkey plans to deploy additional military equipment to Syria in the coming weeks, including armored vehicles, drones, artillery, missiles and air defense systems, Bloomberg reported. The hardware will be concentrated in the north to reduce the risk of clashes with Israel.

Under a decades-old agreement between Ankara and Damascus, the permitted zone for strikes against Kurdish militants is set to be expanded from 5 km to 30 km from the border. Turkey says the aim is to strengthen control along the frontier and prevent threats from Kurdish forces.

Analysts say the move could heighten tensions in the already fragile region.
