Intel cuts 35,500 jobs under CEO Lip-Bu Tan’s restructuring plan – Tom’s Hardware
Intel has cut nearly 35,500 jobs in less than two years as part of a sweeping workforce optimization program led by new CEO Lip-Bu Tan, Tom’s Hardware reported.
The report said around 20,500 employees were laid off in the past three months alone. The total figure includes earlier reductions under previous leadership.
As of the end of September 2025, Intel employed 88,400 people. A large share of the layoffs occurred in Q2, when the company’s restructuring costs exceeded $1 billion.
