Multiple Russian airports closed amid mass drone attacks – authorities
Russia has temporarily suspended flight operations at several airports including those in Vladikavkaz, Grozny, Samara, Krasnodar, Ulyanovsk, Kazan and Cheboksary following a wave of drone strikes, the civil aviation regulator Rosaviatsiya said.
The restrictions were triggered after the Defence Ministry reported that air‑defence systems intercepted 57 Ukrainian drones over six regions, including 35 over Bryansk region and a number heading towards Moscow.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said three drones targeting Moscow had been downed, and later clarified two additional UAVs were destroyed. At least one drone was reportedly intercepted above Kursk region.
