Anti-migrant protests erupt in Montenegro after stabbing involving Turkish nationals

Anti-migrant protests took place in the Montenegrin capital of Podgorica following an incident in which a local resident was stabbed during a clash with a group of foreign nationals, including citizens of Turkey.

Demonstrators shouted slogans such as “Turks out!”, and the rally quickly took on a xenophobic tone.

According to media reports, dozens of Turkish and Azerbaijani nationals were detained by police on October 27. Experts say the unrest reflects rising nationalist sentiment and the Montenegrin government's weak response to anti-migrant tensions.
