A court in Yerevan has rejected a motion by the defense to dismiss the criminal case against Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan and 17 members of the opposition movement “Sacred Struggle.”

According to Armenian media, the judge stated that the evidence in the case has not yet been fully examined.

Archbishop Galstanyan was arrested in late June after Armenia’s Investigative Committee claimed to have prevented an armed attempt to seize power.

He is charged with plotting terrorist acts and attempting to overthrow the constitutional order.
