The Council of the European Union has approved the fifth tranche of the support program for Ukraine, APA reports, citing the EU Council.

The amount of support totals 1.8 billion euros.

“The implementation of the fifth stage of the Ukraine Support Program has met the nine required conditions. The financial assistance aims to strengthen Ukraine’s macro-financial stability and support the continuation of public services in the country,” the EU Council’s statement said.

Note that the Ukraine Facility support program entered into force on March 1, 2024. The program envisions 50 billion euros in financial assistance to Ukraine in the form of loans and grants for the period 2024–2027.
