More than 75% of Germans say they are dissatisfied with the performance of the current coalition government formed by the conservative CDU/CSU bloc and the Social Democratic Party (SPD), according to a survey by research institute Infratest dimap for broadcaster ARD.

The poll, conducted between November 3 and 5 among 1,300 respondents, found that 76% disapprove of the government’s work six months after taking office, while only 22% expressed satisfaction — down from about 50% in June.

Approval ratings for key figures have also declined. Only 26% of respondents said they were satisfied with Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil, while Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt maintained the same 26% approval level.

A majority of respondents (58%) described Germany’s foreign policy as uncertain, and only 29% believe the country’s economic situation remains “secure.”
