U.S. tech giant Google plans to invest €5.5 billion in Germany over the next four years, Der Spiegel reported, citing Philipp Justus, head of the company’s German operations.

The funds will be used to build a new data center in Dietzenbach (Hesse) and expand an existing facility in Hanau.

Google also aims to broaden its presence in Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt. The initiative represents Google’s largest investment program in Germany and is expected to create roughly 9,000 jobs annually through 2029.
