Macron says France will send gendarmes to Gaza for EU security missions
French President Emmanuel Macron said France plans to deploy over 100 gendarmes as part of international security missions in the Gaza Strip. Speaking at a joint press conference in Paris with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Macron said the move aims to support the stabilization of Gaza and the return of Palestinian security forces.
“Stabilizing Gaza requires the return of Palestinian Authority police and security forces,” Macron said. “France is ready to strengthen their capacity under the EU missions EUBAM Rafah and EUPOL COPPS by significantly increasing our presence with more than a hundred gendarmes.”
