Landslide at road construction site in Georgia kills Turkmen and Chinese workers
Four workers from Turkmenistan and China were killed and one injured after a landslide struck the construction site of the Kvesheti–Kobi road near the village of Tskere, Georgia’s Roads Department said.
The collapse occurred during the construction of a retaining wall. Emergency crews are on site and an investigation is under way.
The Kvesheti–Kobi highway is designed to improve regional transport access and ensure year-round safe travel to the Russian border. The project includes 23 km of road, five bridges and five tunnels.
