Three Armenians sentenced to life over Crimea Bridge blast
A Russian military court has sentenced three Armenian nationals to life imprisonment as part of a case involving eight defendants convicted over the attack on the Crimea Bridge.
Artyom Azatyan, Grigory Azatyan and truck driver Artur Terchanyan were found guilty of organising a terrorist act and illegal trafficking of weapons and explosives. Roman Solomko and Terchanyan also faced charges of smuggling explosive devices.
Investigators said the device was manufactured in Ukraine and smuggled onto the bridge concealed inside rolls of construction film. Citizens of Ukraine, Armenia and Georgia were allegedly involved in planning, with Ukrainian national Andriy Sharashidze named as the organizer.
