Ali Karimli was placed in solitary confinement
Ali Karimli, chairman of the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (APFP), who was ordered detained for 2 months and 15 days, has undergone a medical examination at the pre-trial detention facility of the State Security Service. According to haqqin.az, citing law enforcement sources, Karimli was transferred to the detention facility after the examination and placed in a solitary cell.
Karimli’s lawyer, Agil Lagich, said he did not observe any disrespectful treatment of his client by investigators or operational officers.
Karimli is being investigated as part of a criminal case linked to former head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev. Earlier, the Sabail District Court ordered his pre-trial arrest for 2 months and 15 days. He has been charged under Article 278.1 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan — actions aimed at the violent seizure of power or violent change of the constitutional order.
