A Russian tourist vacationing in the Maldives nearly lost her fingers after being attacked by a shark, according to the Telegram channel “112”.

A group of tourists had been brought to swim in the ocean and film content with local marine predators. Organizers assured participants that nurse sharks are safe if guidelines are followed, but the woman violated instructions by spreading her fingers underwater.

She sustained minor injuries and, despite emerging from the water with a bloodied hand, said she felt little pain. She later even encouraged her social media followers to try the activity.
