Russia looks to ship fertilisers to Armenia via Azerbaijan

Russia looks to ship fertilisers to Armenia via Azerbaijan
24.12.2025 17:30

Russia is discussing the possibility of supplying fertilisers to Armenia via Azerbaijan, in addition to grain shipments already routed through the country, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk said.

He noted that in early November the first train carrying Russian grain in more than 30 years travelled to Armenia via Azerbaijan and Georgia. Kazakh grain was later shipped along the same route.

Overchuk said Russia was also considering loading the corridor with other goods, including fertilisers, and exploring options for return shipments from Armenia to Russia via Azerbaijan.

He added that a train carrying petroleum products had recently been delivered from Azerbaijan to Armenia.
