Azerbaijan and U.S. discuss prospects of TRIPP project
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov met with a delegation led by U.S. Trade and Development Agency Regional Director for the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and Eurasia Karl Kress, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
The sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in energy, trade, economic investment and regional connectivity, including the TRIPP route. Particular attention was paid to familiarising U.S. private sector representatives with Azerbaijan’s infrastructure and logistics capabilities and opportunities for expanding cooperation.
The meeting also highlighted progress made through contacts held as part of preparations for a strategic partnership charter between Azerbaijan and the United States.
The parties exchanged views on Azerbaijan’s role in ensuring regional energy security, the development of renewable energy, diversification of trade routes within the Middle Corridor, and the country’s favourable business and investment climate.
