Azerbaijan issues disciplinary sanctions against seven lawyers

 Azerbaijan has imposed disciplinary sanctions on seven lawyers and issued warnings to two others to strictly comply with legal requirements in their professional activities, the Azerbaijan Bar Association said.

At a meeting of the association’s presidium, its chairman Anar Baghirov briefed members on the organisation’s current activities and upcoming priorities.

The meeting also included a swearing-in ceremony for candidates who successfully passed written and oral qualification exams and completed mandatory training programmes, granting them membership in the Bar.

In addition, the presidium approved the termination of legal practice for eight Bar members appointed as judges under a presidential decree dated Dec. 25, 2025.
