Social spending rises as 175 million manats paid in January
A total of 175 million manats in allowances and presidential stipends were paid to 892,000 people in Azerbaijan in January.
According to the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, the payments were financed from the state budget.
Of the total amount, 107 million manats were paid as allowances to 485,000 people, while 68 million manats were allocated as presidential stipends to 407,000 beneficiaries.
Compared to the same period last year, spending on allowances increased by 16%, while payments of presidential stipends rose by 18%.
In January alone, an additional 16,000 social payments were назначены electronically. Since the launch of the electronic appointment system in 2019, a total of 895,000 allowances and stipends have been assigned proactively via the e-system.
