"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" grosses $927 million in opening weekend

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” earned about $167 million on its first day of release in the United States and Canada, setting a new opening-day box office record and surpassing the previous mark held by “Avengers: Endgame,” Marvel said.

The film recorded the second-biggest opening weekend in North American box office history, grossing $355 million in the United States and Canada. It narrowly trailed “Avengers: Endgame,” which earned about $357 million during its debut weekend.

Worldwide ticket sales for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” reached $927 million over the opening weekend. International markets accounted for $572 million, including $121 million from China.

Tom Holland returned as Peter Parker. The cast also includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Sadie Sink and Mark Ruffalo. The film was directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.

The story follows Peter Parker as he continues fighting crime in New York while living alone because the city’s residents no longer remember him. The events take place four years after “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

The film was released worldwide on July 31, 2026.
