London to host photo exhibition on Azeri refugees

Renowned photojournalist Ed Kashi will present photos documenting some of the approximately 875,000 Azerbaijanis that were displaced by the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The event, organized by VII Photo and the European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS), will take place on April 13-19 in the gallery of Oxo Tower Wharf, London, AzerTag state news agency reported.

The striking images chronicle their lives as refugees and internally displaced persons over two decades later.

Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts. Armenia constantly violates a ceasefire agreement signed with Azerbaijan in 1994 and refuses to implement four U.N. Security Council resolutions calling for immediate and unconditional withdrawal.
