Woman frozen to death in Azerbaijan’s capital

A 51-year-old woman has frozen to death in Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku, which has been hit by a rare cold wave in the past four days.

The homeless woman was identified by police as Tatyana Mishakkiyeva, whose frozen body was found in Xanlar Street 24. 

The authorities pitched tents in several districts of the capital last week to provide homeless people with shelter and food during the cold days. 

It is not clear why the woman could not get to one of the tents.
