Traffic will be restricted in several streets and avenues in Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku, on January 20, a day of national mourning, police said.

Restrictions will be imposed on Parliament Avenue, Mikayil Mushfiq and Mehti Huseyn streets and Matbuat Avenue between 0800 until the end of the mourning ceremony.

Police urged drivers to use alternative routes during these hours.

More than 100 civilians were killed by Soviet troops deployed in Baku on the night of 19-20 January 1990.
